September 16 - the elusive crimson dragonfly

I finally got a picture of one of the scarlet skimmers that hang around our yard. I've been trying for over two week. I'm not sure what the other one is.

September 2 - Dolphins

There were dolphins feeding at the beach today, two pair of them. About all you can see are their backs and dorsal fins and occasionally a tail. The fourth photo is a Magnificent Frigatebird, they have a wingspan of almost eight feet.

We haven't been to Anna Maria Island for several weeks, so today we went out and got our beach fix. There was really rough surf and the strongest rip current I've ever experienced. We weren't able to spend much time in the water, so I spent most of the time taking pictures.
