August 28, 2011 - Back to the Beach
We haven't been to Anna Maria Island for several weeks, so today we went out and got our beach fix. There was really rough surf and the strongest rip current I've ever experienced. We weren't able to spend much time in the water, so I spent most of the time taking pictures.

There is a lake down the road from where we live and there is an island in the middle of the lake. At dusk the island starts to fill up with the birds that roost there.
Got a couple more shots of the local wildlife in the backyard also.

I received the Birthday gift of a Canon DSLR camera today and these photos are my first attempts with the new camera. So far I'm lovin' it.
