This is a juvenile Brown Pelican


and this is another working hard to get a meal

 
these are adult Browns
 
 
 
This guy is just trying to get a meal and the gull, who are notorious food thieves, landed on his head and would not give up the fight

    Thanks so much for sharing these pics. Brown pelicans are my FAV beach bird. Last Fall at S.C. beaches, our yearly vacation destination, for the first time in 10 yrs. there were NONE! Broke my heart--I'm blaming climate change.

    So I especially love your sharp images. Thanks again.
